Cat carriers

Cats don’t always travel well. A cat owner usually can’t just put the cat in the car and go. They are easily spooked and will often retreat under seats or in the precarious location of under the gas and brake pedals. Cat carriers can help reign in kitty and make them feel more secure for travel.

Cat carriers can be made from soft materials and resemble structured canvas bags or they can be plastic or metal rigid structures. The carrier should have plenty of air flow and windows on all four sides. The door should close securely so that there are no accidental escapes.

Cat carriers come in various sizes. Size is important. If the carrier is too large the cat may have room to spray or defecate (which often happens when they are nervous.) The carrier should be just large enough for the cat to stand up and turn around to prevent accidents.
